Committment to service
Hi! I'm Meredith. It's nice to meet you!
I love this community and believe deeply in public service. I’m running for County Council because I care about how our local government shows up for the people who live and work here—and because I know that leadership matters.
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked in complex organizations in the U.S. Air Force, the private sector, and in elected office. I’ve seen firsthand how thoughtful leadership, strong organizational management, and clear priorities directly impact outcomes. When leaders keep people at the center of decision-making, organizations work better—and communities are stronger.
I currently serve as President of the Park City Board of Education, where research-backed best practices like strategic planning, accountability, and a focus on outcomes guide our work. I would add one more essential ingredient: healthy, effective leadership. The quality of leadership directly shapes how residents experience local government and the services it provides. When local officials lead with integrity, collaboration, and respect, the entire community benefits.
Service to others has been the throughline of my professional and civic life. I’m a longtime volunteer, a consensus builder, and someone who listens first. In addition to my elected service, I’ve led and supported community organizations, worked alongside business leaders, and helped create spaces for civic dialogue and collaboration.
I am married with four wonderful children. I am a veteran, a realtor, and a small business owner. I earned my master’s degree at Vanderbilt University, served as an Air Force chaplain, and have spent decades leading teams and supporting people through challenge and change.
I believe strong communities don’t happen by accident—they are built through good governance, shared values, and leaders who are willing to do the work. I’m ready to bring that experience, perspective, and commitment to the County Council.
I would be honored to serve, and I would be grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
